אמרה הנשמה תאותי ורצוני להתישב על קצת דברים מאותם שנאמר בהם (דברים ד לט) 1 1. Sayings of the Neshamah, My passion and my desire is to settle on the little matters that of them it says in Devarim 4:39
והשבות אל לבבך כי ה' הוא האלהים 2 know this day, and lay it to thy heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and upon the earth beneath; there is none else.
הרי הם מעיקרי אמונתנו שחייב כל האדם לרדוף אחרי ידיעתם 3 You can see they are the essences of our faith, that obligate each person to pursue to know them.
כל אשר תשיג ידו: 4 All who will overtake knowledge.

אמר השכל - אנה פניך מועדות 6 The intellect says, Where is your face? Stumbling.
הנה העיקרים הם י"ג 7 Behold, the essentials are thirteen.
ועל איזה מהם תרצי להתבונן 8 And some of them I will try to explain.
(ג) 9 3
אמרה הנשמה הנה כל העיקרים הי"ג 10 The Neshama says, "Behold all the 13 essentials.
הם מאומתים אצלי בלי שום ספק כלל 11 They are true counsels for me without any doubt at all.
אבל יש מהם שהם מאומתים לי 12 But there are from them those that are true for me.
וגם מובנים ויש מהם שהם מאומתים לי באמונה 13 And some are grasped, and there are from them those that are from faith for me,
אך לא מבוארים מן ההבנה והידיעה: 14 However, they are not grasped from understanding (Binah) and knowledge (Daat).
